Hard wiring a battery charger

If you have multiple batteries and you want to have a charger for them in the system, can you hard wire in the charger instead of putting on the clamps all the time?

I'm thinking of running multiple batteries in the back of my car, and I want to be able to just plug it in when I park it at night, and not have to get back there, clamp them up, then plug in the charger, then in the morning unclamp them and unplug the charger.

Does this make sense and is it as easy as just putting positive to positive and negative to negative? Thanks!

The other question I have is what's the difference between the XS Power chargers, the intelli charger HF1215, and the big red one they sell, the 1005 / 1005E? There isn't much info it seems on their site on them.

Unless you are charging tons of different types of batteries, no reason to get the red charger. Just get one of the silver ones at the voltage you require

And there shouldn't be a problem hardwiring one of those. Yes, + to +, - to -. Put the plug in an easily accessible place

Thanks. I'm looking at a D5100 up front and 3 or 4 XP950's in the back. So I'm guessing the silver will still be good right.

I guess the other thing I could do is just do a breakaway plug so I just need to connect it to the car when I get home. Whichever.
