ghostismyname
Ok so I installed a new h/o alt (250 amps at 1200 rpm) and I have only replaced my upfront with a yellow top, when I come to a stop at a intersection and then leave the intersection if my rpms quicky go from 800 to 1200 my mids and highs amp shuts off for like 4 seconds (300 or so 4 channel kicker) but my sub amp stays on (aq 2200) when I get a extra batt will this go away? I think maybe amp is going into protect from seeing big increase in voltage?

ghostismyname
I've yet to hook up my meter. Could I get a drop? (I made sure to get the right belt so its not slipping)
ghostismyname
voltage doesnt drop, it increases (on my way home tonight i was testing it out using my headlights and they get brighter) Could that cause a amp to shut down for a few moments? Tarball
What is your voltage increasing to ? Yes, some amps will go into protect mode during a voltage spike (depending on how much of a spike). If you amp is protecting you need to know what your alt is spiking to. This MAY be damaging to your cars computers.
