Get a 2 ohm load with one SVC 4 ohm Sub!!!

Anyone ever tried to achieve that?  ;)

Well I have an amp that puts out 800 Wrms @ 2ohm. I only have one Sub (MTX 8500 in sledgehammer) with one coil @ 4 ohm.

Would it be possible to drop the impedence of the speaker to 2-ish ohms by adding a 4 ohm resistor in parallel? Or am I nuts?

If anyone has done something like that hit me back. I need more power from my amp

peace

yes you can, i seen something about it a while back but the thing is that the resistor will asorb half of the power, the say 800 watts 1 sub and one resistor the sub will get half the power and the resistor will get the other half
