yea he's right.. what i meant was set it on the loudest volume on your head unit but i think it came out wrong.. follow Dtowndubzz first post and you should be gooood

Definitely use it if you don't want to scroll through your head unit all day adjusting the subwoofer level lol. I think it would be safe to turn the gains up on your amp up about 3/4 until you get a DD-1 and find distortion. That's what I'm doing anyway until I can get a hold of my buddy's DD-1 or osciloscope. Of course the distortion can vary from amp to amp, depending on the brand and quality. My Sundown SAZ-1500D should have less distortion than my Audiopipe AP-1500D, but I haven't had the chance to DD-1 either of them yet.
