beaker
I just skimmed through and saw a comment about an overheating 470, I apologize if you felt I went after you. I've been running an EVGA 470 GTX since release and did have issues with it getting hot at first. After I pulled it apart and replaced the thermal paste with Caramique (sp?), I havent seen it go above 65 degrees and its overclocked.

beaker
I think I just clocked it to a little above what the 480 is at.
Sheena
so about 700mhz.. well here comes the kicker for you. im clocked at: 1.125V on the core 850mhz core 1700mhz shader 2000mhz memory the stock this card comes with is: .975V 656mhz core 1312mhz shader 1701mhz memory the card im running is a zotac 470 AMP! edition. triple slot video card dual 92mm fans with the zalman cooler on it. im sure this card could be clocked at around 900+ on the core but it gets too hot and artifacts with it at 900. (about 79C) trust me i am SEVERELY pushing this card for what it is on air. i can live with 850mhz on the core as a high level overclock on air. i never use it unless i benchmark or at lan parties. the computer runs about 167 hours a week and relaxes at 36C on the GPU and the CPU. 09 Civic EX KDC-X395 (2) SKAR Audio VVX-12 Skar Audio SK-1500.1 4 cu ft @32 (new box and more port soon) Firing Forward not sealed off Stock 80 Amp Alt Big 3 In 1/0 Knu 2 Runs To The Back 1 Pos 1 Neg In 1/0 Knu DD-1'd 13.8v drop
beaker
Well with voltages that high I'm not suprised to see high temps I havent even checked my clocks in a while, I know I didnt touch the voltage though. It still rips through pretty much every game at 1920x1080.
Sheena
Yeah rips through games at stock clocks. I only push 850 and that high Vcore if someone is around. Nothin like hearing dual 92mms run at 3.9k 09 Civic EX KDC-X395 (2) SKAR Audio VVX-12 Skar Audio SK-1500.1 4 cu ft @32 (new box and more port soon) Firing Forward not sealed off Stock 80 Amp Alt Big 3 In 1/0 Knu 2 Runs To The Back 1 Pos 1 Neg In 1/0 Knu DD-1'd 13.8v drop
