Question About Bass Knobs

Recommended Posts

ight here's the thing i have 2 ma hk401sx's 1 on each sub at .5 ohm and both have a bass knob and want to keep them but i dont want to have two bass knobs... i have been reading about it and it seems other amps have a master and slave but i dont think the ma do...so i was wondering if i can use a home telephone splitter and plug 2 telephone wires in it then the bass knob then into the amps and the other end..sounds ghetto but it might just do the trick...

probably not. my cousin was explaining to me that a bass know wire is not the same as phone cord. but every amp is different. just count the wire's on you knob and on a piece of phone cord to see if they match. if they do i say give it a shot

I think most of them use 6 pin wires whereas telephone wire is 4 pin

you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol

not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be.

try an ethernet cable if the phone cord doesnt work.

you could alwyas get some rockfords to use the master/slave.

Yes, this is an old thread but I wanted to update it.

For the Brutus Line and up, etc. AND OTHER AMPS with same phone style connector (RJ11, RJ14, etc), normally only 4 pin but not 6 pin as needed!!!

Radio Shack no longer sells the 2 way splitter plug in store.

But Circuit city does.

I am current using it for 1 controller to 2 BXI2006Ds.

You can either plug it into the back of the controller and run 2 cables back or BETTER plug it into one amp with one cable from the controller in and then use the other female (heh) plug for the cable to the second amp. (master to slave , why so Politically Incorrect these days?)

Get the gains close to the same!!!!!

This would probably work for more than 2 amps!! (daisy chaining) but I haven't tried it. 1 in 1 out, 1 in 1 out, etc.

It is a 6 pin all around splitter (middle six on plug), normal phone cable is middle 4.

The adaptor # is

********* GE # TL26522 (like $8.00, 4.50 for me on sale.)

This can also be found all over the internet.

If you have any bass controller with a standard middle 6 pin only phone style connection, this will work.

If another (longer) 6 pin cord is needed it is avail in store @ Radio Shack. Also coupler is there to inline connect for a longer cord/cable.

Full blown 8 pin ones are also available if you look around.

Hope this helps some.....

Cheers!!!!

I got this info from over a CA thanks to everyone hopefully it will work because the MA one looks very small

also here the item i will need:
