neuspeedescort Posted July 9, 2012 Report Posted July 9, 2012 it was sealed. 55hz. i was told if i wanted ported, id have to go with an 8 or 10 at most. i metered 137 in the kick how can you have a sealed box that is tuned??, and to the one asking, ill suggest to build yourself one, i built mine for 2 10" ascendant audio chaos, and its pretty loud, and hits the lows pretty well, what truck you got building a sealed box is just like a ported box manipulate the airspace and the tune will change. just like adding poly fill will slow it down and act like a larger enclosure. CleanSierra Posted July 10, 2012 Report Posted July 10, 2012 If I remember correctly(I had a friend that had a 77 Shortbed 4X4) there isn't a bunch of room behind those seats. It's been a LONG time since I have been in that bodystyle truck though, so I could just have a bad memory. She had an 8" Fosgate in a sealed box behind each seat. I don't remember there being a WHOLE lot of depth behind those seats. Get that measuring tape out and check your dimensions and we will give suggestions after we know what you have to work with. Sorry I missed the C10 comment, I wouldn't have asked which truck you had, if I would have seen that in your description, so sorry for that. Can we get pics of the truck, along with interior pics? I'm thinking a badass box could be built for some Sundown 8s and make you re-think your opinion of what 8s can sound like. If the room is available, 10s would give a little more cone area and sound great as well. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
