RF4LIFE
I was thinking of making a dual T-Line box for two Rockford T2 12's @ 31hz. I made a design that will fit in my Ford Explorer. should I build it? Or just make a Ported box?
Chris Hammer
General rule seems to be that you run less than rms...like half rms. Just build a ported box wang em on 2K and be happy lol. RF4LIFE
In that case should I make a box for 4 12's? I have 2000w RMS to play with, so 4 at 4000w RMS on half would be 2000w RMS?
One Way
if you're going to run that much power to a t line, you might as well do ported. I'm pretty sure you will blow your subs with that much power on a t line. what amp do you have? RF4LIFE
What if I do 4 12s? They would ask for 4000w rms and I would give them 2000w rms?
One Way
nothing wrong with trying it. Now the problem is do you really have the space to do 4 12s in a t line? T-line build- http://www.stevemead...e-t-line-build/
RF4LIFE
Could probily make it fit, now why would 2000 kill the 2 12's if there bilt for 2000?
One Way
more than likely not because they will each receive approx. 500 watts each. you also have to remember that t lines are extremely efficient, meaning that it takes less power to get louder, so go easy at it. Chris Hammer
The subs cant take as much power in a T-line mechanically as they can in a ported or sealed box. Almost like running it free air...its easier to bottom the sub or pass its mechanical limit. A T-line would be huge for 4-12's but if you could build it I would love to see it. I designed a T-line for 2-15's in my crew cab and with removing the seats and building to the roof I could barely squeeze it in there. Why not run the subs at 2ohm and cut down the power and still run the 2-12's. SteveBrondstetter
Depending on the sub you will be fine! i have 6 500 watt tens in my t-line running right around 1k a sub and it has never had a problem! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Altimate-Automotive/121314931239071 www.altimateautomotive.com The Zombie's are coming Steve
