Reciever with adjustable output wattage?

I was thinking is there any Home Recievers that allow you to adjust you output power depending on the speakers you are powering for example, it allows you to adjust the reciever to put out 30 to 150 rms in increments of 10, so say you primary speakers are 120 rms each but you rear speakers are only 50 rms, you would be able to set the output of the rear channels at 50 rms, there for you wouldn't overpower and possible blow the rear speakers sending it 150 rms, I didn't really research this at all before posting this thread, but discuss.

It's called a volume knob.

LMAO there's no real gain settings on a receiver but if you're that worried about overpowering your speakers, get a DMM and ammeter and you should be good to go.

and you can blow speakers with less than RMS by sending them a clipped signal.

You're in a lot of gray area looking for black and white. Just don't turn them up until they distort and you should be ok.

Rear-speakers? Do you use a surround reciever and want to lower the volume on the rear-speakers? There is audio softwares were you can increase or decrease the dB-level signal on each channel. I got my software from my soundcard, but there is free ones too. Maybe your default one got that option?

add a resistor to increase the ohm load on that channel. thats how you cut power.

in fact, I have 50w resistors if you want to try that. I have 3ohm and, i think, 4ohm.

No all my speakers are matched to the receiver, I was just asking if such a thing existed, it would be cool for a reciever that you could connect to your laptop and adjust each output to go with each individual speaker, like put in the speakers Frequency response, FS, etc..... for the best possible match/signal, I am sure a receiver like this would be very hi-end/expensive, but was just throwing out if technology like that existed, just seemed like it would be cool to micro adjust everything to how you wanted using your laptop

I know there are some Sony ES receivers and maybe other brands that use a mic like Alpine Imprint. Hell, does Sony ES exist anymore? LOL

you can do all that. its called setting crossover points, EQing/tuning.
