Leaving my amp in the trunk with no subs

Is that actually bad? If you have the gain down it shouldnt be a problem... should it?

yes, amps dont like having power and searching for signal to put out that just isnt there, i dont know the reasoning behind it, but i know they really dont like it.

it's kinda like having the microwave on without food in there. It's bad because it has nowhere to transfer the power to. engergy in = engergy out

Learned this when working on my system, class a/b amp without rcas plugged into it, got hot enough to burn my hand...

i would just tape up the wires, remove the fuse like stated before(from the battery to the amp).

and completely remove the amp. the wiring is fine if its just there protected, but if your amp is just sliding around it would cause a lot of stress on the wires and possibly ruining your ground cable.

well that was the case for me one time anyways...
