pioneerpoundingspl Posted July 12, 2012 Report Share Posted July 12, 2012 Alright so since ive bought this sub ive noticed the cone itself gets pretty warm. At first i figured it was due to clipping so i turned down all my gains and made sure there were no bass boosts on. Still was heating up. So i figured it had to be the voltage because i had had the same problem before and once i got my voltage better the woofer stopped heating up. Well I now have 2 yellow tops and the cone gets just as hot. Its a dual 1 coil wired to 2 ohms off my prs-d5000spl amp. Anyone have any idea what could possibly be going wrong? The amp is deffinately not low end its not that much power but still does 2000rms at 2 ohms. Its getting hot like you can still touch it but it is hot. As it goes for gains i have the gain at 3 quarters and the volume boost at half. even with this second battery i notice my voltage is still pretty shitty kind of a piss off thought buying another battery would solve my problem.
