Hair Trick ? please dont flame

Recommended Posts

And just in case let me put my Nomex suit on.

Do you think 4 15" subs with 10mm of xmax in a sealed box can pull off any type of hair trick?

If it matters each is getting 800 watts and teh subs would be in 1.5 cubic foot boxes each.

TIA

I have all the T/S specs if needed but as you said, if the fact that it's a sealed set up puts the nail in the coffin then there I have it.

So without ports there's no way to move enough air without having 10+ subs huh.

Depends on cabin area.

Cabin volume is 90 cubic feet / 2548 Liters

you will see better results with a ported box

I have 4 15" Kicker solo's S15d's. I dont think there is anything I can do for porting.

Specs for the Kickers:

Fs = 18.84 Hz

Qms = 8.587

Vas = 10.32 cu.ft

Mms = 8.732 oz

Xmax = 0.375 in

Sd = 131 sq.in

Qes = 0.396

Re = 3.61 ohms

Le = 0.832 mH

Z = 4 ohms

BL = 3.674 lb/A

Pe = 750 watts

Qts = 0.379

1-W SPL = 88.8 dB

Otherwise I have 1 JL 12W7, I'm trying to avoid getting another.

I know the 4 15's will give me good clean hard bass, but something inside me still wants to pull off the hair trick.

If you had a ported box you would probably be able to do a hair trick. This is my buddy's car with just 2 15's on 2500wrms. If it can to a little hair trick then I could imagine that your 4 15's could do the trick :)
