Mids/Highs Amps Go into Protect - Troubleshooting Help Please

Recommended Posts

You checked the resistance of the wires while they were unhooked from the amp, right?

Yep 13 ohms on one side and 10 ohms on the other both wires were connected to the 4" coaxials. I tried playing with them unplugged and it still protected so that ruled out the ohm load possibility

If you wired correctly, the impadence reading should be spot on (or close) to what it is supposed to be wired to. If reading is deviate far from what it supposed to be then something is loose.

Btw, how many speakers are connected to each channel?

Is this on the second amp or does both amp protect still?

If so, does both amp protect at the same time?

I will go ahead and just check all my connections then and see if that changes anything.

One coaxial to each front channel of each amp and one comp (mid/tweet/crossover) to each read channel of each amp.

No the left amp protects and right after that the right amp protects. They both had 1 crazy ohm load 4" on them

Check the resistance on those. Gotta single out every component.

dont mean to jack the thread, but how do you measure resistance in a crossover? do you have to have the speakers attached to it and measure the "amp in" terminals on the xover?
