Chris Davis Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 Ok to start off I got a new car free of charge but had a stock bose system in it and I have to say it was one of the best stock systems I have heard besides the Bang and Oulfsen that could of come in the Audi lol. So I wanted to do something quick and on a budget got some Focals mids and highs and had an 2 year old sub and box. Well the box was making alot of noise so I pulled the carpeting off it and took the top off. Low and behold the port wall was free floating from the top and bottom only attached by the glue on the side of the box. So now I am repairing it and sanding down all the joints but the outside of the box still has some fiber from the fabric of the carpet. How would you remove it I plan on sanding smooth and shooting it with the brandy color of My car so I need to remove the fiber befor going at it.

Daniel Shepard Posted July 24, 2012 Report Posted July 24, 2012 A non aggressive wire wheel on a grinder should fix you up, sandpaper will get clogged quick. Sounds like it would be easyer to take the specs and build you another box. If the port is messed up then I bet the other joints are getting worn as well. A good wood glue will never come undone again, which leaves me to believe that its not built very well. Make one of your own:)
