ILoveBass21 Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Okay so I have a jvc arsenal dual 4 ohm coils on a 700w rms arsenal amp and I need a box to hit the lows and make my car flex nicely! I don't do bass coms or anything I was thinking tuning around 34hz? I'm only 16 and its my first decent sound system and I saved for a while to buy it so please don't hate! I already know a lot of people have much better! Please help me design a box, I drive a 99 Audi a4 trunk is 36 wide 17 tall and 34 deep. Thanks in advance! (: Quote
Guest Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 what music do you play that is low? people have different definitions of low Quote
ILoveBass21 Posted July 30, 2012 Author Report Posted July 30, 2012 Yeah mostly low stuff just rap and some rock but not enough to tune around it. Thanks! Quote

(: What would be the size of that sub, better the exact model of the amp and the sub if possible. Quote
ILoveBass21 Posted July 30, 2012 Author Report Posted July 30, 2012 the sub is a 12 inch the model number for the sub is cs-aw7240 and i dont know the one for the amp off the top of my head, they dont make them anymore but it is a 700 watt rms and 800 peak. which is wierd but that is what it is rated for Quote
ILoveBass21 Posted July 30, 2012 Author Report Posted July 30, 2012 yeah more on my story when i bought the system from car tunes they said hey we will throw in a loud box for free considering i ran up a 1200$ tab and it is loud, and it shakes everything, but i need something that is tuned lower more like 32hz instead of 39hz. i know how to make the boxes, i have built a t line and a regular ported box. i just dont know what ft3 i would need im guessing around 2-2.5 and what kind or port tuning to do. i would like to use the semi reliable re box calc so i can get the cuts and all that but i just lack those simple things. if anyone that has good expirence and results desgning boxes would care to do one for me id be so greatful for it, i would pay but i am pretty much broke. and what do you guys think my set up is capable of? spl wise if i did want to go to bass comps. Joe X Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Ok so your sub is 600W RMS, so bear that in mind, here is a enclosure suggestion for it: Enclosure Specifications: Fb = 34 Hz Vb = 1.75 ft^3 External Height = 15 in External Width = 27 in External Depth = 14 in Port Width = 2 in Cut Sheet List: * All Dimensions in Inches. * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts. External Enclosure Parts: Front = 24 1/4 x 13 1/2 Back = 27 x 13 1/2 Left & Right Sides: Side 1 = 12 1/2 x 13 1/2 Side 2 = 13 1/4 x 13 1/2 Top & Bottom = 27 x 14 L Port Internal Assembly Parts: Front to Back = 10 1/2 x 13 1/2 Extension = 16 3/4 x 13 1/2 Is not really a ground pounder sub either so expect some nice bottom end but not a lot of flex. ILoveBass21 Posted July 30, 2012 Author Report Posted July 30, 2012 Okay sweet, thank you so much, and what do you mean ground pounder? what kind of sub is considered a ground pounder, and what is mine considered? Quote
Joe X Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Okay sweet, thank you so much, and what do you mean ground pounder? what kind of sub is considered a ground pounder, and what is mine considered? What I mean to say is to keep your expectations low, if you want some crazy flex you need mighty power and subs to match that master the low end like the RE XXX or the SSA XCON to name a couple. Your sub may be considered daily use sub, will get you a good thump and some flex but that's about it. Quote
WastedTalent Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 And considering you said you're pretty much broke, you don't have the money for em. But don't worry, think most of us are like that. Save up for 1-2 big things and wait until we save up again. Quote Sheena = pedobear
