jlmtx2002
I have a 2012 chevy silverado crew cab. Thinking of taking out the 60 of the 60/40 rear seats, and doing a single 15 ported. My question is what would be the most effective sub and port placement. Sub up, port up ext... I haven't decided on what brand of 15 yet. I have around 1000w of power. If that matters with sub and port placement. Thanks for the help.
Spl-Zx2
ive seen good things happen in ext cabs with sub up port up.Just my 2 cents. Quote My build http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167217-03-zx2-aeroport-build/
john253a
there is no best positions, one may give better numbers where the other better sq, idd say up/up or subup/portfwd box design and tune may affect sub/port position, and may the decision easy through little to no choice post some measurements, sub, power and overall goal then let it go from there
jlmtx2002
Thanks guys. As far as measurements I can go 36w, 20d, 40t. I'm 95% set on going with a DAD BD 15 rated at 1000w rms. The amp is a Rockford T-1000 bdcp. As far as a goal I would say SQL leaning more toward SQ over SPL.
severancej
I have to say that I can't hear a big difference between subs up port up and subs up port to the side, but the biggest difference for me is with port up you can go all the way wide and not worry about blocking the port. Thinking about it now, I feel like subs up port up being right behind my ear made it a little muddy or loose sounding on faster beats...maybe just my crap enclosure though.
