good 500w subs

Recommended Posts

Ok so I'm revisting this subject cause I got the money to do it even though I didn't sell all my amps and subs yet.

I want 2 15s

They have to be 500rms or lower each.

I ruled out p1s cause the kicker comps are better but need bigger boxes...

Any suggestions would be great.

Small box requirment subs is what I'm looking for

1998 Pontiac grand prix gtp supercharged2 12" Obsidain Audio V.1 on a 2011 zx1500.1 at 2 ohms. 20ft of Knuconceptz CCA 0 Guage. 2nd Battery is a Shurken BT-120. Box is 3.5cu tuned at 31.8hz sealed off from the trunk. 14sqft of Dynamat on the Rear deck top & bottom. Soon to be more for doors/roof. Gets low & loud

Did a 140.5 Sealed at Battle of the boom in June 2013 dropping to 12.7v (need a alt mines going bad)

Why do they have to be 500 or less,

That's pretty dumb, as you'll rule out some quality equipment,

Noone has ever blown a sub due to under powering,

What's the budged

Amp mdl

Size restriction/space avaible (this is the most important)

Car

Sub/port config if ported or sealed

And what do you want to achive

I'm trying to get loud on low power. Hit low. Don't want over 1krms cause don't want to do a big batt in my 98 gtp 4 Dr.

Trunk setup, max dimensions are 15.5h 36w 31d

I want a efficient setup. 2 500w 15s would be louder than 1 1000w 15

The question should be 2x 15 that work well on 500 each

There are a heap of stats that prove that a 2k sub on 500 is not alot louder in the same environment,

You'll find power shows a bigger % incress in db down low but up high,

I can't run any numbers yet

But in 1k there are a lot of options

With out running the numbers I already see some problem

36w -(2x15.5") and 1.5"wall "32.5

Only leaves 2.75" width for port

And 38sq" is not enough port for 2x 15's

Yes cone is king on low power but I feel you'll get a better outcome and output form 2x 12"

2 500w 15s would be louder than 1 1000w 15

Comparing the exact same model sub in the same alignment, this statement is more than likely true.

Comparing two different subs or alignments, it will not always be true.

AA Arsenals would be a nice sub for ~500 watts.

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.

Well Joe x already designed me a box for 2 15s with aero ports.

But I know a kid that wants to sell me a dual 12 box he built for 2 lvl 4 12s dc that I would put my 2 cvx 12s in

And he has a shrunken Bt120 he used for a few months thts been charging ever since he wants to sell me both for 260 idk if I should do it. I got a 2011zx 1500 wired up now I was Gunna downgrade but idk

That's a lot of idk's :)

Why down grade the amp. If you have the remote gain, just keep your fingers from cranking it up all the time. Extra power is a great thing, and it will be there if you want to use it for short periods of time.
