psychoracing Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 Im sure its a stupid question but figured id ask anyways. I have a btl that is a 2ohm dual voice coil sub. I was wondering if it can be wired to be a 2 ohm speaker. Ive found how to do 1 ohm and 4 ohm just not 2ohm I have a mojo 4000 amp and it says at 2 ohm it will be 2000 watts, 1 ohm is 4000 and 4 ohm is 1000. thanks for any help. also how many batteries do I need to run for this mojo to work right ? and what size wire ?
Chris Hammer Posted August 7, 2012 Report Posted August 7, 2012 No. Only 1 or 4ohm. Series or parallel...your choice. If you want to wire at 2 ohm you need two of those subs or a single sub that is DVC 4ohm. You are going to need good OFC 0/1 cable for that. Look at knukoncepts Kollosus Flex cable... or Audiotechnix.. What vehicle to you have...You should get a High output alternator. 4K rms is alot of power and a stock alt cant handle that. Plus several larger AGM batteries. If you are on a budget you can look at Diehard platinums....but I recommend XS power batts. psychoracing Posted August 7, 2012 Author Report Posted August 7, 2012 It is in a Acura Integra its only going to do 1 BTL for now but I have another coming from a buddy of mine, its nothing serious just put 1 in to mess around. I was wondering about the alternator to. Im starting to wonder if I should trade the amp off and see if I can find 2 sundown 2500's or something. this is the only pic i have at the moment. im not trying to really spend alot either. I got a good deal on the amp and couldnt pass it down. Wire to 4ohm...run at 1K until you can get an alt. You should do the big 3 and get an extra batt too. psychoracing Posted August 7, 2012 Author Report Posted August 7, 2012 Fixed, sorry about that, I wasnt going to run 2 amps at the same time, figured 1 of the 2500's and a battery and some wire upgrades and should be ok I figured.
