basshead5280
So I'm going to upgrade my system later on and I need help deciding on the battery's I need. I want to do 2 battery's. I'll be running a hifonics 2000.1 and a hifonics 600.4. So I'll be needing around 2600 watts worth of power. What size batterys will I need. And also the starting battery size/type. I might get a optimum red top up front so I'm guessing I'll need a yellow top on back? Or a isolator with like kinetic or xs power? If so what size? alaskanzx5
or you could just get an xs power upfront under the hood. you will have to measure the stock battery and look at the xs power batteries to find wich one fits and then maybe a single d3100 for in the back. an isolator is only needed if you are going to run the system with the car off so that if you kill the battery in the back the front battery can still start the car. ch0sen
You only want an isolater if you plan on running your batteries completely dead, which you should never do and i would recommend 1 big xs unless you just want two batteries If thats the case you can get two d925s from xs power, i've gotten 1 but i haven't gotten around to installing it yet ninjad lol Edited August 10, 2012 by ch0sen Quote My current 95 Jetta Build w/ pioneer h/u 2 RD Sonance 10's with flatwind coils 2 Audiopipe apsm 1500.1s 1 Hifonics Brutus Elite 60x4 1 XS d925 1 Stinger spv35 1 1000 amp lead acid 50 ft of 0/1 ofc from Audiotechnix all powerbass components, and coaxils, 4 sets buildlog = http://www.stevemead...2-rd-10s-build/ My build for my wife. http://www.stevemead...01-f-150-build/

I want to be able to have the second battery as show for my next build. What size alternator will I need? I have a 1999 dodge Durango 5.9 v8 with a 117 amp alt. alaskanzx5
i would suggest the biggest alt you can find/afford. just make sure its from a good company like dc, mechman, or singer. there are a few others but you get the point. rmember you can never have to much electrical upgrades. ch0sen
yea, get the biggest alt you can, the bigger it is the easier and longer your batteries and amps will last. basshead5280
Ya I will. Sadly they are priced very high. So I have to wait awhile for the alt and battery Quote 1999 Durango Current 2 15" DC level 3 15s kenwood HU Cresendo bc2000 Big 3 upgrade Sky high car audio wire Coming soon Cresendo c1100.4 double din New Build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/168661-99-durango-dc-audio-package-in-and-box-almost-done/?p=2464991 Clean Build log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/171619-dc-audio-durango-clean-build/
Nathan @ XSpower
D2700 will fit in the stock location and will also be more than enough for your system. If you put it under the hood there would be no need for a battery in the back, which would save you money on the extra battery, wire, fuses, and connectors.
