What's the best battery for my set up?

Recommended Posts

So I'm going to upgrade my system later on and I need help deciding on the battery's I need. I want to do 2 battery's. I'll be running a hifonics 2000.1 and a hifonics 600.4. So I'll be needing around 2600 watts worth of power. What size batterys will I need. And also the starting battery size/type. I might get a optimum red top up front so I'm guessing I'll need a yellow top on back? Or a isolator with like kinetic or xs power? If so what size?

or you could just get an xs power upfront under the hood. you will have to measure the stock battery and look at the xs power batteries to find wich one fits and then maybe a single d3100 for in the back. an isolator is only needed if you are going to run the system with the car off so that if you kill the battery in the back the front battery can still start the car.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

You only want an isolater if you plan on running your batteries completely dead, which you should never do

and i would recommend 1 big xs unless you just want two batteries

If thats the case you can get two d925s from xs power, i've gotten 1 but i haven't gotten around to installing it yet

I might do the 2 d925s. I want to be able to have the second battery as show for my next build. What size alternator will I need? I have a 1999 dodge Durango 5.9 v8 with a 117 amp alt.

i would suggest the biggest alt you can find/afford. just make sure its from a good company like dc, mechman, or singer. there are a few others but you get the point. rmember you can never have to much electrical upgrades.

yea, get the biggest alt you can, the bigger it is the easier and longer your batteries and amps will last.

Ya I will. Sadly they are priced very high. So I have to wait awhile for the alt and battery :(
