A fuse holder and fuse are what, $10-20? That little fuse can save your whole entire car from burning down. A fuse holder and fuse are what, $10-20? That little fuse can save your whole entire car from burning down. Fusing between the alternator and battery is not only unnecessary, it is wasteful. If the fuse blows for some reason or another, both ends of the wire are still hot (one on the batt one on the charge post). Therefore there is no reason to fuse this connection, but do whatever helps you sleep at night. I'm gonna hate
