KiKaZz74
ok so i have this thing hooked up in my room. i know i shouldnt but i have it running 3 sets of speakers each side on the other not in the 901 spots. but my question is why does it keep cutting in and out on me? i cant get the aux to play clearly it always distorts and only one side wants to work if at all. whats going on??? also what are the preamp and amp in things for? Skullz
Top pic is probably running to low an ohm load. Bottom pic is exactly what you see, those loop the internal amp to the preamp. KiKaZz74
the top pic isnt current that was before i had it working. could the speakers be the problem? right now the switch is other at 8-16 ohm and could u explain to me on the preamp stuff? never dealt with it before Quote My SPL to SQ Build Log Vehicle:1997 Dodge Dakota Ext Cab 4x4 2009 Dodge Journey SXT5.2L V8 Magnum 3.5L V6 Stock AltEquipment: Headunit- Alpine CDE-147BT Mids/Highs Amp- JL Audio G6600 Class AB 6 Channel Sub Amp- Hifonics BRZ1700.1D @ 2 Ohms Taramps DSP3000.1D Sub- Hertz Hi Energy 12" HX300D SounDrive SDA3 12 Tweeters- Rockford Fosgate Power Series Silk Domes Hertz Hi-Energy Mids- Dayton Audio Reference 4" Full Range Drivers Midbass- Silver Flute 6.5" Hertz Hi-Energy 6.5" Processor- MiniDSP 2x4 RCA- 6 channels of SounDrive HF series Wire- EB Flex 2/0 -Member of Team SounDrive
Skullz
Bottom pic means that the unit acts as one instead of 2 in one housing, it allows you to remove the U shaped jumpers and run rca's to an external amp if you choose to. You can use the tape inputs if something doesn't seem right with the aux input, but it could also mean something is wrong with the internal amps or your wiring is to low an ohm load for the amp to handle. KiKaZz74
ok so how would i have to wire this? they are all pre loaded and i think they might be different ohm loads. bad idea i know but i think they are 8 8 and 6. all like 150rms a piece and ive tried tape i think but it shorted it or something it doesnt like to run a headphone to rca i could try it again tho. and do u know specs? and the U connectors am i able to run those a different way to change stuff? Skullz
What make and model is the amplifier? You can google and see what you come up with as far as what it is capable of doing. KiKaZz74
i dont have a clue. the plate with info was removed many years ago before i was even born. it was my dads and he said i could try to get it to work. so i did Quote My SPL to SQ Build Log Vehicle:1997 Dodge Dakota Ext Cab 4x4 2009 Dodge Journey SXT5.2L V8 Magnum 3.5L V6 Stock AltEquipment: Headunit- Alpine CDE-147BT Mids/Highs Amp- JL Audio G6600 Class AB 6 Channel Sub Amp- Hifonics BRZ1700.1D @ 2 Ohms Taramps DSP3000.1D Sub- Hertz Hi Energy 12" HX300D SounDrive SDA3 12 Tweeters- Rockford Fosgate Power Series Silk Domes Hertz Hi-Energy Mids- Dayton Audio Reference 4" Full Range Drivers Midbass- Silver Flute 6.5" Hertz Hi-Energy 6.5" Processor- MiniDSP 2x4 RCA- 6 channels of SounDrive HF series Wire- EB Flex 2/0 -Member of Team SounDrive
Skullz
Is this it? http://www.ebay.com/...0#ht_1074wt_906 What speakers A and B allow you to do is to connect 2 sets of speakers to the amp, so you could wire 2 sets of 8 ohm down to 4 ohm on speaker A with the switch set to 4 ohm and your 6 ohm speakers on B speaker but the difference in ohm load means one set may be louder than the other set. EDIT: After a bit of searching it has 4 amps built in that are 50w per channel.
