95legwagon Posted August 31, 2012 Report Posted August 31, 2012 so ive just decided to sound deaden my roof..... dynamat xtreme ( free ) also dropped my "1000 watt" xplod amp down to 2 ohms LOL how long you think it'll last? i actually get a lil voltage drop ( .5 v ) now and its definitly louder by my ear and my gf's ear ( she doesnt get to hear it very often so i trust her ears more ( in a way) its also on a pair of POS xplod 12s so idgaf if they die..... the difference between no sound deadening and actually being able to hear the bass and not the roof is HUGE.... thats probably why im louder but also prolly a lil cuz i dropped it down to 2 ohms.... anyways..... guesses on how long it will last? *amp gets super hot too** lol it would be good for a couple burps then probably need cool down time also you think it could cause a fire? that would be a concern i guess...didnt think of that til now i think there real i was looking through that guys stuff he sells and it looks like he finds stuff at auctions and just sells it Yea, it looks like someone got the mids about a month ago....shit. ToneDeaf2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Report Posted September 1, 2012 I used to run two of these 12's with that old 1100w amp shaped like a pentagon in my galant for my first system. They hit pretty damn good in that car. I had them sealed 1cuft each. I was very impressed with them at the time. The amp got hot but it would never stop playing and I beat on them super hard always bridged at 2ohm. I actually just found some old pics of that setup printed on 4x6 paper. Thats how old it is. I will try to find them and put them up.
