Shane Patrick Lovell Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 I just bought an Alpine CDE-HD137BT, and I want to eventually replace my stock system (and of course add somethings). I want to be able to get a piece every pay check, or atleast every other paycheck. Any recomendations on some nice door speakers? I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, so my front speakers are 6.5 and the back roof ones are 5.25. Is 60RMS really loud? I think the stock system is really loud; then again, I the only 19 yr old that gets pissed at people who drive Harleys because they're oboxiously loud : ) Like stated earlier, I want to get a piece of my 'system' every paycheck. If I decide to get speakers this time, will i mess them up if they are rated for 75rms but im pushing them with my headunit(18rms), or should I get the four channel amp first and just drool over it until i can by some good speakers to use it with? Any suggestions on the amp, four channel and a mono? I hear Rockford Fosgate is good, and they're not all that expensive either. I have already settled on the Kicker CompVR's, either ten or twelve inch. They're rated at 400rms. Thats load as hell, huh? I know there is some other older posts about this but I just wanted some fresh opinions. Yes, I do know that I am typing in italics right now, but my mouse was unplugged and I am too lazy to pick it up Guess i have to 'tab' my way to the 'Post new topic' button.
ToNasty Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Figure out what you want first and what your budget is. Do you want a lot of bass, clean highs or both. Shane Patrick Lovell Posted September 2, 2012 Author Report Posted September 2, 2012 Figure out what you want first and what your budget is. Do you want a lot of bass, clean highs or both. And remember you.get what you.pay for I want door speakers, four channel and mono amp, and one or two subs. If i could get the best of both world (clean highs and bass) I want to go down that road. I dont really have a budget per se. I just want a decent system that doesnt cost an astronomical amount of money. Every piece of teh system is going to go by one at a time. Im not going to go buy this stuff all at once; its going to be a gradual build. I guess i dont WANT to spend more than $150 for the front, $150 for the rear, and $300 for each of the amps. Give me good amps that are up to $500 MSRP because amazon usually sells for a lot cheaper. I found the Kicker CVRs on amazon for $86, so that put them in the #1 slot for me; unless someone gives me good reason to steer clear of Kicker. Also, since i want to spend so little for the amps, would one amp to each sub be a good idea, or should i splurge and get an amp that can power both of the CVRs?
ToNasty Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 Wby are you set of cvr's? And you dont need 2 subs if you vet a descent one. And depending.on the power you.have you.have yo think about extra batteries and stuff like that ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
1koerner Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 kicker is a decent choice for a beginner system but there are alot of other companies out there as well you can choose from and they will be in your budget range you listed above mtx is good also fosgate has alot of really great products american bass isnt bad either (well there subs are not a fan of there door speakers) my advice would be to research various companies to see what they offer but you will get the best advice from the ppl here on this site but remeber cheap isnt always a good thing but imo go with fosgate there punch series sounds really good and doesnt cost a fortune hope this helps if you dont own or drive a customized car/truck/suv you suck lol
ToNasty Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 I would start out with the highs. Get a nice set.ofthe components for the front and some.nice.coax for the rear and amp them. Atleast i always start with the highs cause i like treble more than bass ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
97Jetta1637 Posted September 2, 2012 Report Posted September 2, 2012 wait, you don't like loud stuff, but you want stereo equipment? maybe i'm misunderstanding this but you'd probably be more interested in sound quality over spl. you really shouldn't need rear fill with a sub, the bass will essentially drown out the sound from the back, unless you care about your rear passengers hearing the vocals/highs. so lets say you don't, there's any extra 150 for your budget. http://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosgate-R500-1-500-Watt-Amplifier/dp/B001P86SMK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1346565355&sr=8-1&keywords=r500.1 there's your sub amp with the money you saved from rear fill. http://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosgate-R165-6-5-Inch-Full-Range/dp/B0076SIJPW/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1346565452&sr=1-2&keywords=r165-s there's your front 6.5s. http://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosgate-R125-2-Prime-Amplifer/dp/B007BG5NLW/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1346565514&sr=1-1&keywords=r125-2 and the amp for your 6.5s. 239.13$ for the "goods". now for the essentials, wiring, http://www.knukonceptz.com/index.cfm check this out and look for what you need. so lets say another 50 or so on top. less than $300 and you've bought everything but the sub. which is $86. disclaimer: i was already on fosgate website so i just looked up prices on amazon since i was there already too. #teamihop Two 12 inch DC XL's Carbon Fiber Cap Stetsom 7k Shell of box / baffle built by me Port / sealing the box by John Hone Fuck midrange Alpine-9886 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/177428-97jettas-sql-trunk-wall-loudest-99-buick-century-custom-with-a-one-legged-owner/ price has no influence on how something sounds I told him to move the fucking port. they see me hoppin they stoppin they can't believe im so white and dirty It looks like you got so drunk, that someone came up and stole your leg.
