Hey guys i just got a new amp to replace one that broke. It can run 500w @ 2ohms and 300w @ 4ohms. the sub i'm hooking up a sub from a dual setup that ran at 4ohms the other sub is damaged so i'm not using it.so one will run at 8 ohms. my question is will i be able to run the single sub off the amp without damaging either the amp or the sub?

The higher resistance is better for the amp but you'll lose serious output from the higher ohm load.

Is the sub a single 8 ohm or dual 4 ohm?

its a single 8ohm with 250w rms. i sort of bought the amp without thinking it all the way through, but it all else fails i guess i'll just buy new sub(s)

ok, but it wouldn't damage the amp or the sub by running it like that right? just want to make sure, just in case there is a chance i could fry a brand new amp
