Swordlordboy1234 Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Bad at posting pics, or id just link it. Its a PWK box design and i dont think im gonna use it but out of curiosity i wanted to see what its tuned to. Ive herd he likes to build 50hz fart boxes. anyways. Made out of 3/4 mdf, outside dims of this box are 32 wide 22 deep 14 high The box is made of two chambers split in the middle with ports on the left and right side of box. the box is 45'd in the rear corners of the box that read 1.75 inches long, and the two ports are 1.25 inches wide, 12.5 tall. Let me know if i missed anything, or if someone can help me post the pics for easier viewing Yes i know there is a very great calculator on SMD pinned in this section, being that i have an imac its not very helpful to me. Jessica Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Assuming the box is a 3 common wall design, like below then torres says it is around 36hz before any displacement. The more crap in the box like 45's and sub displacement raises tuining. I'm guessing it will be around 40hz after all is said and done. I can post a screenshot of torres if you want. Here is a random pic of a 3 common wall box, not exactly what you have but you get the idea Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. Swordlordboy1234 Posted September 10, 2012 Author Report Posted September 10, 2012 No it's not a common box like that. So if yours posted is 40 hz then mine is way higher. My box has 2 chambers as stated above, with a wall between the 2 subs each sub has its own chamber and own port. A port is on both the right and left side of the box My old YouTube channel : http://www.youtube.com/user/SwordLords1234?feature=mhee My old build log : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/161872-96-accord-b2-sundown-sky-high-dc-power-re-re-build-for-heatwave/page-37 My New Build - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/207041-2016-mazda-6-sql-build/ 2016 Mazda 6 Touring JL Fix 86 - OEM signal correction B2 prototype DSP 6to8 B2 Ref63 - 3 way active set 2 B2 Class H quattro's 1 B2 Zero.5R @.5 2 B2 HNv3 12 d2 B2 SLIP40 - Lithium in the trunk Northstar Group 35 under the hood 100ft 2/0 welding cable 30ft 4ga welding cable 20ft 8ga welding cable All stinger OFC speaker wire Soundrive custom RCA's Tons of attention to detail.... Jessica Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 I know yours is two chambers, imagine that box mirrored left and right with a divider. Something like that? Swordlordboy1234 Posted September 10, 2012 Author Report Posted September 10, 2012 Yeah now you got the idea. I wish I could just post the pic oh well. He told me to ssf set at 28 to not damage subs, mbut if it's tuned higher then 40 something like you stated.... Wouldn't the subs unload like crap? I was under the impression that you have about 10 hz below your tuning before you should worry about your ssf. Jessica Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 I miss typed a number earlier. I don't know for sure the exact tuning without knowing how much volume the 45's and subs displace. But just the box empty is tuned @ 33.7hz. So you may end up around 35 or 36hz after all is said and done, but thats just a guess. The net volume is 1.99cuft before any displacement. by the way, is the baffle single or double, because that will make a difference too. Sorry for the mistake earlier. RAM_Designs Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 Assuming .1ft^3 for sub displacement, it looks like you have about 1.85ft^3 per chamber with a tuning around 33hz. That's if the effective port length is the 18" that you described, and not longer due to how the port is situated in relation to the back wall(this will also affect the net volume I calculated due to the added displacement of a longer effective port length)...you might as well post the image if you want a more definite answer. just upload it to photobucket or any other hosting site, and simply copy/paste the url onto this page.
