so... the new Behringer desk

Recommended Posts

Presonus can't keep up anymore, the latest firmware was shit apparently cause they are trying to push it.

I also can't see how they could make a bigger desk for cheaper and has more features then the current one? I just don't see it happening to be honest

Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at.

I'll stick a 300 amp fuse in a potato and sell it to you for $2k.

and no im not a jbl nuthugger, but these speakers go out more often then anything else, so we are able to offer lower prices then any of our other gear, and for cheap (in the scheme of things) the jbl PA really does sound mint, and gets bloody loud at the same time

Running that PA we use a PLX2 1802 amp on the horns, a 3602 for mids, and a 3602 for each sub.

so that comes to:

1150WRMS for highs

2500WRMS for mids

7200WRMS for subs

^^those numbers are per side, so 22000WRMS total, and the jbl's just laugh at it!!

we then have another 6 1802 amps running monitors at 575WRMS a peice, Plus a active drum monitor

how big are you wanting to go? do some reasurch about passive vs active, and decide on one of them ( you can run both but one or the other is always easier)

whats your budget? this could also impact into that choice

are you wanting a console or jsut something you can plug you ipod into? lol

Not knowing what your plans are is hard to make a suggestion, Are you going to be using this for bands? if so how many mic channels are you wanting the console to have?

have you thought about monitors?

As a suggestion, the K series gear from QSC is great great equipment and sounds fantastic!

or you can go passive, with seperate amps, and then there are tons of options!

a k12 ontop of a ksub per side is a nice sounding pa for sure, then add a A&H zed desk (i rather like these desks, they sounds nice and are really reliable as is all A&H gear)

you could get a desk with built in effects aswel if you will be needing to purchase a effect engine or two later down the road.

just let me know what you intentions are for the system... rehursal room? taking it from venue to venue? staying in a single venue 24/7? monitors? outboard equipment? (effect engines and graphic eq's)

you may want to look into a digital console? if so wait for the new behringers to come out then jump on one of them!

how much power are you wanting to run?

Nuthugger :peepwall:

Liking that x32? I can't wait till I get the new SL3242AI and do a comparison between it, my buddy's x32 and another company's Soundcraft Si Compact 32...

@EdgarG, it all depends on what you're wanting to do. I could tell you to pick up a pair of Kustom 10" cabinets and go to town, but they would not last. Lol...Remember, 95% of the time, you get what you pay for.

POTATO!
