TylerParrish Posted September 20, 2012 Author Report Posted September 20, 2012 i do have a self serve car wash, i was asking cause there, they have a setting for under the hood wash and rinse, i just didnt know if that was a good idea, so ive never used it....but there's no plates on my car, so that's kinda outta the question unless i borrow some and wanna go through that trouble just to wash my car. Nate Futuristic Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 just dont get really really close with it try to let it dry as long as possible ( dont put a plastic bag on your alt if its hot lol) bring a few old towels to help dry off all the areas you can reach how dirty is your engine bay? how many miles? mine has like 0 oil leaks or dirt build up and it has like 118k on it (bought it with 116k but i had alot of driving in the last 3 weeks) down rpping vanderbilt. 30 miles from victoria. i own the 3rd loudest setup here out of 3. but i did put together all 3 setups ^^ Cant wait to swalllow Ghost's babies

Most part stores carry it I'm assuming go nowhere near alt, battery, fuse box, or sensors with that? If so, I'd just do all that by hand. When I used it on my jeep i never worried about covering or avoiding those areas but I did leave it to dry completely before running again. Regency Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 I've cleaned my engine 08 yukon and a few bmws and subarus and not a single problem just get seran-wrap and cover EVERY electrical exposed and alternator very tight also add foil for extra protection use a light spray like fan mode to rinse off then spray product (Simple Green works as well as GUNK) and aggitate it then rinse and dry just make sure not to use a high stream of water and your fine then when your done start up the car and let it idle for 15-20 min and then protect the plastics
