Help!!! RF20001BD AMP malfunction

Okay so here goes....so I just acquired a RFT2D415 and a RF20001bd so i decided to install it in my car this morning. Everything was working fine for like half an hour , turned it off (because one of my mates wanted to hear it so I waited for him). Once he arrived we played it again and it bumped like it should. After we had finished listening to it I decided to move the box to a more stable position( ive got a station wagon) but this required that I take the sub out and run a longer pair of speaker wiring(8ga). When I had accomplished this I turned on the Head-Deck to ensure that the system was still running okay but to my dismay there was a high pitched sound produced. So I turned it off and tried to figure out what was the problem was I unplugged everything from it but It was still making a high pitched sound. I turned it on once more and about 20seconds after there was some sort of fiery action coming from the amp. I quickly turned the amp off and now Im stumped on what could be wrong. Setup is like this:

550cca batt

1/0 ga (power/ground)

120stock alt

big 1 upgrade(alt Im poor okay)

Ive asked around but no one here (Im from New Zealand Auckland) knows the **** could be wrong. Any Help would be great thanks in advanced.

Double check all connections? Pinched rcas anywhere?

Check for a short some where to the amp. Sound like amp needs to go in for repair. Sorry dude.
