revoracing247 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 the placement of bracing or the displacement of bracing? and what kind of bracing are you thinking of? ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
revoracing247 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 Ahh interesting haha. man i need to get back in school... thanks for the help.. sucks that i dont have a good calculator.. or one at all anytime! it's a lot better then my calc class right now. i'd rather do this stuff ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
RCP Audio Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 that is not alot of port at all.... expecially for a beefy woofer PSN: Rcp_soundz Good rule of thump is go by what fuse size is being used in these amps. The higher the more amperage it pulls, this is what I look at. I'll stick a 300 amp fuse in a potato and sell it to you for $2k. 1991 Mazda 323VERY small build thread here: http://www.stevemead...23-small-build/
Brettward Posted September 27, 2012 Author Report Posted September 27, 2012 Haha deffinately! And the bracing just kinda runs along the top and bottom, i wanted to keep it so i could do some Plexiglass acrylic of some sort to see through it and have some space to see it all. And the displacement, like how much space its taking up, how do you calculate that? I'll post another pic so you can see better
Brettward Posted September 27, 2012 Author Report Posted September 27, 2012 Yeah i know haha.. reason for that is, i wanted it tuned around the 32 hz but have it high and low enough to flow air through the "ski" hole in the back seat for better movement. and if i made the port any taller the length would come down to the bottom of the box. any wider, and its out of the Holes range, i guess i could just deal with some air not going directly through the hole, but eh, just a sketch so far, haven't started building it yet. This is why i ask for any opinions so far
revoracing247 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 just find out the bracing just find the area of the bracing. looks like it'd be like 25.5x0.75x1" and 19x0.75x1" or so right? add the two and put them in. just a rough guess. you have all the dim with ya. ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
Brettward Posted September 27, 2012 Author Report Posted September 27, 2012 that was close haha good guess. but okay so after i add the 2 bracings together and then put them in what? its honestly been 6 years since i've done any math so you might have to walk me through this, otherwise ima catch what your saying and facepalm possibly
revoracing247 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 that was close haha good guess. but okay so after i add the 2 bracings together and then put them in what? its honestly been 6 years since i've done any math so you might have to walk me through this, otherwise ima catch what your saying and facepalm possibly put them in the bracing box in torres and it will account for that and it'll prob change your tuning and stuff a little bit. what tuning are you shooting for? ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
revoracing247 Posted September 27, 2012 Report Posted September 27, 2012 btw is that the most recent torres? cause mine's 2010 and it looks a little different lol edit: nvm just got the new one ~ If it was easy, everybody would be doing it ~
