Recommended Posts

So Earlier this year I picked up a new truck, 2011 Silverado and decided I wanted to change out from my old Hifonics / Kicker system and try something new with less economy equipment (for me that is).

System plans:

Sundown Audio SA-8 v.2 (x2) (Arrived)

Sundown Audio SAZ-1500D v.3 (Arrived)

Sundown Audio SAX-125.4 (Arrived)

Compnents (front)(looking at Hertz)

Coaxial (rear)(Looking at Hertz)

Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.3 (Arrived)

Fiberglass Under Seat Box (hopefully room to port to 35Hz)

XS Power D3400 Secondary Battery Under Hood (Arrived)

Big 3 upgrade

3 Runs Knu Konceptz 1/0 to amplifiers

Wire Reducers at Amplifiers

Factory Deck (steering wheel controls and stock look)

So on with the pics!

Finally done with important stuff and have time for this build. Also I have most of the components in so time to start designing.

I want to keep the rear seat usable so the box will be under the seat which forces me to use fiberglass. And since Chevy farked up the silverado design (Lower chassie and body lifted for increased fule economy, which by the way wasnt worth the changes) Air space its a commodity (trying to squeeze .75cuft/sub ported after displacement though might not get ported if it drops it too much).

I have never messed with fiberglass before and while I feel I could figure it out on my own I will accept my newbie status and ask for tips from both experienced ppl and other less experienced ppl on what I should do and what I should not do along with any tips tricks or other advise.

I am currently missing the wiring so the system is a ways from being functional however I should be able to get the box and amplifiers installed while I wait.

That is def what I am hoping for, they are taller and heavier then the Kicker L5 12s I have sitting in my dining room. I cant wait to get them up and running, just hoping I can give them enough space. I just wish they hadnt messed up the floor under the rear seat of the silverados, that is whats giving me the most trouble with the design

Thats kinda what I was thinking, Tape off the floor and make the bottom then work from there, what is a good thickness for fiberglass? I heard ppl talk about being able to stand on it but that seems kinda arbitrary to me since weight varies.
