nocturnalrites101 Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 Trying to increase braking performance by a long shot for my suburban to prep for future things (will remain unsaid for the moment) anyway I Was looking into baer brakes. Maybe something larger diameter then stock. Not really sure what the largest size is with the stock wheels.? thoughts? Ideas for rotors? pads? calipers?
n8ball2013 Posted October 1, 2012 Report Posted October 1, 2012 uograding the brakes on those years isnt easy really. you can do a full baer kit but cant run stock wheels. youll also need to look into an upgraded master cylinder as well. they are notorioys for having shitty brakes. even more so when you load it up and throw big wheels on em THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger.
nocturnalrites101 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Report Posted October 1, 2012 oh yeah what master would you recommend? see I got the truck not long ago, and it has brand new good year silent armor tires on it and I hate to just see them go to waste.
nocturnalrites101 Posted October 1, 2012 Author Report Posted October 1, 2012 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WIL-260-8556P/?rtype=10 what about this one?
nocturnalrites101 Posted October 4, 2012 Author Report Posted October 4, 2012 I was told another thing to change, would be the rubber brake hoses, apparently even though there high pressure hoses , there still rubber and will expand slightly given slightly more play in the peddle. The steel braid ones will fix this. This is is atleast what im told. I never did find a NON oem master ither.. if someone can actually help that would be great.
n8ball2013 Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Ssbc makes a master cylinder. Braided lines will help. Ive got mine done with ssbc in thefront and stock drums I love the rear. Id do the rear too but it doesn't help hardly at all ans its about 1500you for the conversion kits THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger.
nocturnalrites101 Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SSB-A0463/ this one?
nocturnalrites101 Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 ok the ssbc master I listed is a near direct bolt on I just have to switch the port locations. apparently they claim lot better braking power do to the larger bore. soo ill be upgrading the master the hoses to Russell. hawk pads and rotors , or ebc. newer calipers (more then likely Oem replacements ) and the shoes by ssbc, thoughts?
