If you are considering spending $600 a woofer you have tons of choices, but tbh if you are only going to be powering your system with that 1 1200 watt amp I wouldnt expect you to have to spend more than 200 a woofer

loud to me is anything over 130 db. the kicker was a solo x 18

i can do a 130 with an 8" sub.

edit: considering the solo fail is over $1000, that gives you a good budget for a better sub stage.

i wont just be using that 1200 watt. i will be getting better amps as i go along but for now i need to know what im aiming for on woofer. i would prefer to have an 18 since i have never owned one. but what is the best for just spl. is sundown worth it. like getting 4 8s or 2 15s or what. sorry im so unexperienced.

there is no "best". its all personal preference, or what you're looking for.

2 15's has more cone area than 1 18, so you could do that instead.

anything over like 1500-2000w, depending on the car, you will have to start spending more money on electrical upgrades like batteries and a new alternator etc.

if you have any amount of power, i recommend you do the big 3. the guide on how to do it is in the electrical section of the forum, near the top.

those aq's love big boxes. he should measure out his hatch space to find out what he's working with.

i can get some measurments but if i fold my rear seats down i can go pretty big. so i have narrowed it down to 2 difrent woofers the aqhdc 15 or sundown sa 15. they both seem like great subs. and and i have heard really good things about aq.

sa and hdc are completely different woofers. one is 600w and the other is like 1500-2000

but close in the same price range. they are so close that it is almost equal. i am thinking about going with 2 hdc318's. these seem like the better of the 2. how much is the max box volume on these woofers. it doesnt state it on their website.
