Will I need a high output alternator after the Big 3 and upgraded battery? Edit: Standard alternator is 85 amps I believe. 1999 Honda Civic- RIP 2003 Acura RSX Type-S
MrClean636 Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 Depends on battery. A H/O is never a bad thing to consider, especially if you plan on upgrading things later. A stock alternator is meant to just power the car. Should be okay on voltage with a 1500w amp and an upgraded battery (in the back I'm guessing? bc thats what you should be talking about lol) Car: 2011 Ford Taurus SEL / Alt: DC Power 270XP (Will be here 7/17!!!) Landon75 Posted October 4, 2012 Report Posted October 4, 2012 I'd say just have a couple decent batteries 1 up front one in back with some 0 gauge with good grounds and you should be fine. Just get a charger cause you always want to have you batts resting at a decent voltage.
