Im Back....With a new (to me) Car. PICS. Also need help

Soo i posted before about the 2006 Dodge Charger that was in a fire accident, which ended up being a total loss

Now im back, with a 2005 Acura TL Navigation Package. 80k Miles.

Im trying to get a simple setup. I wanna keep the Headunit and the premium sound system, but i want to add a Sub and an amp

Any parts i need to make this happen.?? Ive posted on Acurazine dot com but no one has givin me an answer

uhh i don't get exactly what your asking. like what are you gonna need to put a sub in?

does the stock hu have amp pre outs?

If the stock HU doesn't have any RCA preouts, then all you'll need a line-out converter. If you wanna drop serious bucks, you could get a processor too.

I'd upgrade the battery, and do the Big 3 while your at it. Run a length or two of some 1/0 to the back just for future upgrades. My buddy's TL (03, everything is replaced) has the subs firing up, port back, and it sounds pretty damn good. Quite a bit of rattle, but that's because he hasn't deadened anything

No amp pre outs.

It has an 8 Speaker Prem. Sound System. Ive been searching and reading about getting an LOC and tapping that into the Pos. and Neg. of the 8" sub in the rear deck

But im not sure, they werent too clear of what exactly should be done

Exactly what you just said there, bud! Just snip the wire, and solder the LOC in line with the rear 8's signal leads, then heatshrink back over it all. Or use the crimp connectors, either one works. Get a LOC with a built in remote lead, though. It's a pain in the ass to deal with one without one.

Alright seems simple..

One thing though, i have a Kicker ZX 750.1 Mono Amp. Will i be able to use it or are the line outs only made for 2/4 Channel Amps ?

Same amp as me

Works fine, it says two channel because it has a left and a right channel, but it plugs in with a single RCA pair. Make sure the amp's settings are right (I run mine like 7/8 gain, half boost, and the x-Over Frequency around 120hz, to match my headunit's low pass filter)
