What Do You All Think Of My Set Up? Need Help

Recommended Posts

well there is not much space in there. im not looking for high DB's i just want it louder then it is now with out switching my parts. would this do anything for me?

It would most likely make it sound horrible and potentially ruin some subs in the process.

Do it like I suggested port on the top/woofer side so the ports are all equal.

it's not "pushing air out" like an exhaust on headers....it's vibrating/oscilaationg that amount of air trapped in the port volume, but it's kinda like running 3 motors on the same pipe all in diff directions.

and yes kbreudi...I pwn. :P

hahahaha J/K ONLY KIDDING! I never win on speed posting.

yay me.

ok i will try it out. just for like comp ideas. make some out of like plexy but i do enter the truck in shows so i will be switching out the set up i guess. like have 2 modes(my amps have 2 modes to regular and then there is a loud pop and it switched into HC mode) so i guess i can do it like that.

shows - all 12 running

spl - only 6 with the ported plates.

right?

But that wouldnt work would it? If all 12 of your drivers have there own chamber, then taking half out and replace with a port would just be like porting an empty box with no woofer. Of am i missing sumthing?

you miss understood, there is 2 subs for every chamber.

O well that makes way more sence...and its that bad of an idea.. it would work, but would it be louder? I would doubt it would, i mean yea ported will be louder but your loosing HALF your cone area. And half the power

I would leave it how it is. It's a beautiful, clean install with some excellent old school gear. Especially those PG amps.

ied think that if u added more power maby a lil louder how much u runnin? ied atleast give those subs not quit there rms cause the ma i got dont handle the power fully they want to get hot to bad but i did one of the old ma's the blk ones ina big bout 2cf box prefab for a 15 and i cut out a board n put it over teh hole n cut out another hole for a 10 and it wanged ported sounded like 2 12's in there, ied say make another amp rack and port the subs at the bottom of the box with a slot port so u can still use all 12 10's and probly put the amps on the rear doors or at the back of the box or on the roof?, dunno if this helps any but worth a shot :)
