just purchased a p900.4 i hooked it up and it will randomly work then go in protection mode. sometimes it will switch from protection to on back and forth. its nothing with heat cause it will do it after is been sitting over night then turn on later in the day. im 99% sure its not wiring because i had another amp in the same spot with no problems. also i have another amp for my sub functioning fine off the same remote line. any help appreciated

What's the load on the amp? Did you check that with a MM?

What electrical & how many amps in the system? In protect mode means the remote is working fine.

In other words, a little more info will be needed. Some amps are more picky on electrical than others.

Woofer: 12" Phase Linear Aliante Limited

Mids & highs: DLS Ultimate 5 1/4"

Amp: Audison VRX 6.420

HU: Sony CDX-C90R

By load do you mean ac voltage? I tuned it following a guide on one of the forums. The front channels were 20v and rear 14v. Im on stock electiric going to do big three. Have 0 ga run, and its a very short run because my battery is in the trunk. Grounded right to neg on battery. Other amp is an aq1200. And before this amp was in i had a kenwood 2 ch tht workd flawlessly

You went from a 2ch amp to a 4ch amp so the wiring cannot be the same unless your running it bridged and in that case you may have it wired to low an impedance for the amp to run.

What speakers are you running and how many?

Depending on how your wiring it, it is possible your wiring below the 2 ohm minimum per channel unbridged or 4 ohm minimum bridged on that amp and unless you can explain how they are wired it is more than likely a low ohm load issue.

EDIT: What exact model speakers and how are they wired?

Are the wired in series?

Are they wired in parallel?

How many of the channels are you using?

Bridged or unbridged?

I wil check the ohm of each with a mm when i get home. Db6501 in front db651 in rear. Using all 4 channels. I used the stock wiring in the doors. So each speaker has its own channel. So i guess that is parrallel
