Wiring led's to a circuit board

I am trying to put all led lights in my Trailblazer for dash cluster, window switches etc. and everytime I connect them and tuen it on to power it up they blow instantly. I used a larger resistor and still the same issue. The solder leads are strong so Im not sure what else could cause this. Any experience on this anyone?

How big were the resistors (what value)?

Measure the voltage at the terminals and reply.

LED's (diodes in general) have very little turn-on resistance and therefore require the proper amount of current limiting resistance.
