New to forum, couple quick questions

Already have system installed, Horrid trunk rattle--buying damplifier pro but was wondering do I just cover the entire trunk lid, sparetire etc or just worry about certain areas, the system is in my cobalt and everyone that has a system in a cobalt always complains about rattling probably just because its a cheap car? no clue.

Also lately ive been hearing somewhat of a whining noise when I accelerate in my car coming through what seems to be the speakers and cannot figure out what the problem is.

Lastly I have seen some builts throughout this forum in cobalts and other cars alike where the subs are facing the inside of the car instead of pointing out towards the trunk, just wondering if this makes any significant difference in quality, maybe stop some of the rattling ETC. (also seen steves build in his lexus how the sub was facing the inside)

Any help would be appreciated!

EDIT: Also looking for a better amp for my subs, atm have 2 DX 12'' and running 1150 watt american bass amp just seems like there isnt enough power there any suggestions about better amps (Have no budget)

Welcome to the forums!! You will find lots of helpful folks and tons of knowledge here. Take the time to read up and use the search feature too. It really does wonders.

  1. For your situation 25% should be good, just make sure you are hitting the noisey areas. Great Stuff is great to suppliment as well.
  2. Alt Noise is a ground issue, either ground loop, poorly ran wires, bad RCAs, or a Pioneer deck with a blown pico fuse.
  3. If you can face forward and seal off from the trunk it would be better.
  4. If you want to stick with AB use that amp for mids and highs and get an HD-2500. Would be a decent match for your subs.
