One Way Posted October 20, 2012 Report Posted October 20, 2012 I need opinions from two situations im in.... 1st: I was applying my damp pro yesterday in my doors and there's this big space that im not sure i need to cover up. Do I leave it open or do I cover it? because i was looking at the door panel and it seems like part of it goes inside the big hole. here are some pictures to help out: The big hole. Door panels that part of it goes inside. dont know if you guys can understand what im asking.... so feel free to ask questions to better explain it. 2nd: I bought some RE audio xxx6.5c components and when trying to hook up the tweeter, the housing (of the tweet) is too big to fit in the stock location, which is where I want it. So, I took the housing away from the tweeter and now it fits perfectly. Ok, now for the problem. Does the tweeter housing make a difference in the way the tweet reproduces sound?... sort of like a speakerbox, where the sub needs the enclosure to sound good. Will the tweeter without the housing be harmful? pics: Left is the way it came, and right is the same tweet but without the housing. I really need your help guys! It doesn't change the sound. Not on the style of tweeter anyways. New build coming........ WastedTalent Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 For the hole, I'd see how much and how far the door panel goes in. Like does it go all the way and touch everything in the hole? See if you can apply some deadening inside of the hole. Like don't cover the hole, but see if you can apply some inside of it. Sheena = pedobear
One Way Posted October 21, 2012 Author Report Posted October 21, 2012 I decided to leave the hole in the door open like that because the window rolls down right behind the panel so theres nothing much to do... As for the tweet, are you sure it doesn't need it? Because it feels like the housing is needed to keep the tweet in place. Sort of like a gasket. Theres a small hole Where the positive and negative leads run inside the tweeter (on the side) where usually the housing would cover it, but without it, it's exposed.
