Robby Holmes
Just picked up a pair of DD 9500b motors and will be building them to 12's running off a DD m3a @ .5 for daily 4.1cubes internal Changeable tuning (28hz daily / 39hz in the lanes) 2x 6" D 18" L aero ports (one will be covered for daily) Specs look good for them? First time ever messing with digital designs '08 Chevy Cobalt coupe 2.2 base model trunk build: 2 9512iSC flatwound alum 1.5 coils -extra 9500 spider pack -8" platinum carbon dustcaps 1 DD Z1 (.375ohm nominally daily) 3g31 AGM 320a Ohio Gen alt 1 DD S4 4 channel 4 VO-M8v1's (holes cut for 3rd pair) 2 CS 6.5's 2 VO-B1's Sony XAV-601BT all Knu Krystal RCA's Cadence 7band EQ ______________________ 148.3db @ 32hz (burp) 148.4 @ 37 & 38hz (burp) 146.xdb 90sec average (center windshield)
mrd6
i've never built for a dd sub personally but i know people who have will come on here and tell you that 28hz is way too low of a tuning for a daily setup with those subs... Bump4life
wayyy bigger boxx!!! try 5 - 5.5 cubes net with a loootttt of port. that m3a will barely get them moving. Do you plan on ever runing more power? and that daily tunign is way low. do you realize how long and big of a port that would be? DD love big port. give them 74 sq inches ++. i like your 39 hz for the lanes. id even go 40-41 maybe if you have an interchangeable port. for your dialy try 35 hz-37hz. Robby Holmes
I only play dj slownthrow and decaf (that's why low tuning daily) Eventually would like an m4a, not for a while though In a 4cu box I only need the one 18" long 6" diameter aero. I tried to get some specs for a 5cu internal but it won't fit in the trunk E/: car peaks at 38.03hz that's why 39 tuning for lanes '08 Chevy Cobalt coupe 2.2 base model trunk build: 2 9512iSC flatwound alum 1.5 coils -extra 9500 spider pack -8" platinum carbon dustcaps 1 DD Z1 (.375ohm nominally daily) 3g31 AGM 320a Ohio Gen alt 1 DD S4 4 channel 4 VO-M8v1's (holes cut for 3rd pair) 2 CS 6.5's 2 VO-B1's Sony XAV-601BT all Knu Krystal RCA's Cadence 7band EQ ______________________ 148.3db @ 32hz (burp) 148.4 @ 37 & 38hz (burp) 146.xdb 90sec average (center windshield)
Bump4life
you need more port than 1 6 inch aero. 1 6 inch aero is good for 2 DD 10s. ok if you are playing slowed tune to 32-34. that will be plenty. I didn't model it or anything but that should extend you down to the mid 20s no problem. what ever the biggest box you can fit in your trunk, do that. as big as possible. mrd6
How much space do you have to work with? I would bet that a larger box with more port tuned around 36 will be louder on the meter and sound better daily than the 39hz tuning. Then you can always make a port shim of some kind to lower tuning even more for daily if you want? Those subs have very still suspensions if you recone with the regular 95 series soft parts and will have no problem playing down below tuning. Robby Holmes
Biggest possible is only one inch longer lol unless we build it in the trunk, and I'm not experienced enough for that yet. I want them to be able to play down to 22 without unloading. Originally it was supposed to be tuned to 30, but due to the length of the aeros I can only get it to 28.xx '08 Chevy Cobalt coupe 2.2 base model trunk build: 2 9512iSC flatwound alum 1.5 coils -extra 9500 spider pack -8" platinum carbon dustcaps 1 DD Z1 (.375ohm nominally daily) 3g31 AGM 320a Ohio Gen alt 1 DD S4 4 channel 4 VO-M8v1's (holes cut for 3rd pair) 2 CS 6.5's 2 VO-B1's Sony XAV-601BT all Knu Krystal RCA's Cadence 7band EQ ______________________ 148.3db @ 32hz (burp) 148.4 @ 37 & 38hz (burp) 146.xdb 90sec average (center windshield)
Bump4life
what is going to be your net volume? you may be better off just going with one of them make it a 12 and put it on the m3a alone. that would kill it maybe make it a 15 Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now.
