sbg Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 ok so like a week ago i went out to start my explorer in the morning to got to work., after a cold night like down in the 20s ... my truck would not start! volts were down in the 10s. so i jumped it and went on about my day thinking i mite have left something on ( cd player , dome light something like that. well all this week my truck has been ok , starts in the morning's . well last night we had a cold night down in the 20s again and wouldnt u know it my truck would not start! so i take my truck to get my alt and battery checked and it turns out that they are both ok, and is charging at 14.4v. i have a 130 amp stock alt with big 3 upgrade in 4 ga. and the battery is less then a year old. its 800 cc amp battery. so they tell me at the part store that something is drawing power and thats why its going dead on them cold ass nights. so i went to work tonight and when i was on my break i went out to start my truck so to be sure my battery was charged. so i let my truck run for like 10 min and turn it off and pull the key out, when i go to get out my truck i hit the power window button on accident and my window goes down!!! does someone know whats going on? why do i have power with no key in? 01 focus se 110 amp alt Big 3 sky high and stinger hpm ofc 1/0 Super start platinum AGM (starting) 2 runs of 1/0 Execution audio front to back Kenwood double DIN DDx271 A pillars- orion 4" super tweeter and 2-1" alpines. bassface Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 Some vehicles have a delay that allows you to use certain features for a few minutes after vehicle is turned off or until you open the door. Could this be what happened or does the window work all the time even with the door open?

I even started the truck and turned it off and tried and windows did not go down. Charles Stites Posted October 27, 2012 Report Posted October 27, 2012 yes ive had that issue before... you can also take a dmm set it to 10 amp and disconnect the battery ground and put the leads between the ground cable and battery terminal for the ground and start pulling fuses one by one till the draw goes away.. but make sure to rig the door trigger to show its closed so the dome lights not drawing power
