littlehitter Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 So my 2 12" RE SEx's seem to have been reconed before I bought them. The cone says SR on the bottom instead of the SE like they should. The motor structure is definitely the newer model SEx, I'm just curious how I could tell if they had been reconed. The coils read 4 ohm like they're supposed to for the model number. What would the negative effects of a lower model recone be? Other than the obvious halving of power handling? Would I have suspension issues? I know sometimes it sounds like its bottoming out. Thanks for any help. littlehitter Posted October 31, 2012 Author Report Posted October 31, 2012 It's too cold and dark to bother pulling them out right now. But I pulled back the gasket and there is a bit of black glue squished out around the surround, but not a lot. Ill pull them out tomorrow and get some pics Current System: Clarion CZ702 Stock 5 channel amplifier Infinity Reference 4022i 4" GRS 6.5" Audiopipe 1800.1 2 RE Audio SEX V2's In a 4th order ported though the armrest 2003 130 Amp Toyota Highlander alternator
