99GPGTX Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 They are on...my question is, are they supposed to be settled in? It seems like the pads are just rubbing on the rotors, im not sure if thats because they are all brand new, or something is wrong. Example, i let off the gas and the car doesnt even Idle forward. rusty959 Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 This may go without saying but are they fully bled? Something you could check is see if it is just the front of back pad rubbing. I once worked on a car (granted it was a raced out porche 914 with swapped breaks) that had a caliper shimming issue so we had to shim the caliper so that it was spaced correctly for the rotor, otherwise it would rub. 2013 Subaru BRZ12" Orion HCCA on AQ 22001967 mustang restoration project: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110765-mustang-restoration-build-2011-edition/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/therusty959
99GPGTX Posted October 31, 2012 Author Report Posted October 31, 2012 What do you mean fully bled? Im not a machanical kinda guy lol i think i know what you mean butt i dont want to answer without fully knowing what you mean. Another issue, when i put the rotors on they did not seem to want to set flush to the front end. When i put the wheels back on and tighted the lugs they were set in, but previous to that i could not set them flush even after putting some force to them. rusty959 Posted October 31, 2012 Report Posted October 31, 2012 By fully bled I mainly just meant bled properly. Shouldn't need to completely flush the system or anything. However... Are these rotors a different size than your last ones? If you are having rubbing on your caliper bracket it may be a sign of something worse that you don't want to just cover up. 2013 Subaru BRZ12" Orion HCCA on AQ 22001967 mustang restoration project: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110765-mustang-restoration-build-2011-edition/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/therusty959

99GPGTX Posted November 1, 2012 Author Report Posted November 1, 2012 After hours of fkking with this yesterday we found out the Rotors were the wrong size...the old rotors were actally 12 1/2...closer to 12 5/8. So i assumed 13 bc when i measured them on the car it was way closer to 13 then 12. There was some major grinding issues. I spoke with Baer and they are sending me new caliper brakes and hardware. Hopefully itll be here tomorrow. HJ Customs Posted November 1, 2012 Report Posted November 1, 2012 Something is wrong....ur rotors are going to be smaller after wear bc the pads wear them down. And you need to bleed ur brakes in order for them to work correctly if you lost brake fluid. Do not shave down those rotors, you cannot shave down drilled and slotted rotors This is Hunter Johnson's Mobile Accnt 06 Scion Build
