wellington
I tried the kenwoods and they sounded the same as the stock mids/highs with equal power going to them. I like these because they have a mount for the tweeters that fits directly into the stock mount so there is no need for fabrication of a mount. Anything better I should be considering? I would be fine with any mids that aren't junk (and better than stock) and silk dome tweeters (prefer warm smooth over tissss tisss) kenwoods are $70 on sonic, alpin $80 Anyone know about the warranties from sonic? I don't plan to abuse them but I do like to get loud and even on the lowest gain setting from my sony xm 4045, the stock tweeters started to smoke, lol http://www.sonicelec...KFC-P709PS.html http://www.sonicelec...e-SPS-610C.html I had some vifa tweeters that I did not cross and 2 of them were DOA and the working one died shortly after. Paid a total of $20 for all 3 so it wasn't a big deal. I found them on ebay and they were the last ones, and now I only find ones with a huge mount, that looks like it might be able to be removed. Most of these vifas frequency range is from 1-1.5k to 20k I might even consider making some mounts for them in the a-pillars if they anyone thinks it's worth it http://www.ebay.com/...=item5645a2d4c8 http://www.ebay.com/...=item5645a9203e http://www.ebay.com/...=item5ae05ca677 http://www.ebay.com/...=item5199dc16a9 Any input is appreciated. 2010 HHR LT - DNX 6160 - sony xec-700 - sony xm-4040 for door mids - XM-6020 for tweets in a-pillar - saz1500d v1 - VVME RD-12 1.75 f^3 32hz guru and president of the "cheap asses trying to beat up the block with bargain bin woofers" club

wellington
I picked up a sony xec-700 today for $30. Good matching addition to my xm 4045. Going to run tweets on their own channel and mids on their own channel Wish I got this before the vifa's and I'd still have em. Well, one at least since the other 2 were DOA... Also I was going more for a higher powered SQ tweeter vs a super tweeter that just helps keep up with extreme SPL 2010 HHR LT - DNX 6160 - sony xec-700 - sony xm-4040 for door mids - XM-6020 for tweets in a-pillar - saz1500d v1 - VVME RD-12 1.75 f^3 32hz guru and president of the "cheap asses trying to beat up the block with bargain bin woofers" club

BTW how well do you think a sony xm 4045 would power those if running one from each HP channel or 2 bridged in 2 ohm final load? I don't want tweeters that are too high of an RMS that I would be under powering them 2010 HHR LT - DNX 6160 - sony xec-700 - sony xm-4040 for door mids - XM-6020 for tweets in a-pillar - saz1500d v1 - VVME RD-12 1.75 f^3 32hz guru and president of the "cheap asses trying to beat up the block with bargain bin woofers" club
