Natsuru
I started a thread a while back asking advice from you guys, and I dun goofed I should have listened to everything you guys said Anyways, I was running 2 Boss Audio Chaos 15"s with a Rockford Fosgate Punch 55.2 amplifier Today, I installed a new Power Acoustik BAMF 1250 watt amplifier, which should be giving me about 5-600W RMS, much more than the RF However, although my overall volume has gone up a bit, I was expecting a more... drastic increase So, where do I go from here? Should I just buy better subwoofers ( I was looking at Obsidian Audio or Sundown 15"s) Or do I buy an amp that can offer me better performance (was looking at the hifonic brutus amps) Regardless, my system is pretty ghetto, and i'm hoping you guys can tell me what I need to have a really loud system... LoudBimmer
hifonics does rated power and not really expensive. I ran boss audio sub while back, pure garbage. Try upgrading to a better subwoofers. Obsidian and sundown are both great companies.
Natsuru
This might sound really stupid, but is obsidian assosciated with DC audio in any way? I ask this because the motors of both brands look similar, and I didn't know if perhaps the two companies worked together in some way.... Regardless, would you say these cheap subwoofers are just destroying all potential I have? I really regret buying them at this point 2005 VW Jetta TDIStock headunit(2) Sundown Audio E-15s @ 35hzPower Acoustik BAMF 1250.2 (will be replaced with Cadence mono)GTMat 50mil Sound Dampener http://natsurutech.blogspot.com/

Natsuru
Oh, sorry, I guess I was just making assumptions They both have the huge chrome motor structures, so I didn't know if it was just one of those things So, assuming I go with the sundown 15"s, whatever model the 150$ ones are, can I expect a huge increase in overall SPL, all things the same with the system? 2005 VW Jetta TDIStock headunit(2) Sundown Audio E-15s @ 35hzPower Acoustik BAMF 1250.2 (will be replaced with Cadence mono)GTMat 50mil Sound Dampener http://natsurutech.blogspot.com/
TigerTony
the only 15's near $150 is the E15 at $129. the E15 i had sounded great. the Obsidians are $158. I'd go with either. The E15 is the only one of the two i've had hands on with. Edit: The Obsidian subs are in presale right now too at $150 for the 15.
Natsuru
When you had the sundowns, what did you power them with? Also, how loud would you say they were in your setup? 2005 VW Jetta TDIStock headunit(2) Sundown Audio E-15s @ 35hzPower Acoustik BAMF 1250.2 (will be replaced with Cadence mono)GTMat 50mil Sound Dampener http://natsurutech.blogspot.com/
TigerTony
I had a single E15 in a 2.5cuft box with a 4" aero port tuned at 29hz. I ran about 500-600rms to it from the MB quart amp in my sig and it never got hot. It sounded great to me. i metered at 130DB's in a trunk with no folding seats. The box was wayy too small and didn't have enough port area either. If i rebuilt it right i could had a better score maybe. I had it for about six months and the only reason i got rid of it was because I wanted to try out another brand that's local otherwise i was going to get another. Natsuru
Wow, that sounds amazing, I hope I can get results like that Would you recommend the MB amps like that? I've seen a few, but I have had a tough time finding good reviews 2005 VW Jetta TDIStock headunit(2) Sundown Audio E-15s @ 35hzPower Acoustik BAMF 1250.2 (will be replaced with Cadence mono)GTMat 50mil Sound Dampener http://natsurutech.blogspot.com/
