well they want 850 bucks for a 250 amp alternator for a honda.... fuck that noise

Once I looked at prices on the website I couldn't stop laughing, who the hell is going to pay a little over a grand for a 300 amp alternator? lol

There are probably just as many alternator companies as subwoofer companies out there.

But most are marketed towards hot rod type guys.

Also, most simply beef up stock alternators.

His pricing is consistent with the hot rod and resto market but obviously not the car audio market where customers have less funds.

My advice is to stick with a well known Alternator manufacturer that has dedicated lines for car audio and markets to the car audio community.

Some, like Mechman, actually tool their own internal parts and design the alternators around the way we use it.

Hot rod alts will have a power slope peaking in higher rpm range and idle power will be very low, Mechman type units have more of a flat band with high power at idle and peak power around 2000 rpm. They are also built to run cooler because they may sit at idle for longer periods of time.

Also, they are priced right for our market.
