CaPRiCEx383
My question for you guys, Mostly someone with good knowledge in the way different boxes act. Now I usually build my boxes to the port configuration of box A. In the picture below. I've had problems in the past with unloading of the sub not "enclosed" I would say, and firing directly at the port. Now my question is, If I were to do it Like I drew in Box B. Both subs would be enclosed therefore not causing me unloading issues on paper. Now in real life I know this might turn out different. Has any one done a box this way and had good results? Box would be 3.6 or 3.8 cubes at 31hz. Two 12" but I'm talking about the port here. Only box I've done sort of like this is below, And it came out really good. Loud and the SQ was nice. 90 Nissan 240sx Avic z-140bh Audison SR4 Audison Voce 6.5s CDT es-20 tweeters Sundown 1500v3 (2) DD 9510's 3 cube box 2 6" aeros XS Power D2400 & Xp950 Skyhigh/Knukonceptz/Rockford Fosgate wiring More Coming Soon.. Sonic
If you have a little additional space, why not do 2 separate chambers with 2 L ports in the center, that way if something is wrong with one sub you can still have the other one working, with this setup you eliminate the possibility of one sub firing directely into the port entrance. CaPRiCEx383
I've used pretty much every square inch I could get here. I would do a center port but I don't like the idea of a 1.5" port. 90 Nissan 240sx Avic z-140bh Audison SR4 Audison Voce 6.5s CDT es-20 tweeters Sundown 1500v3 (2) DD 9510's 3 cube box 2 6" aeros XS Power D2400 & Xp950 Skyhigh/Knukonceptz/Rockford Fosgate wiring More Coming Soon.. Sonic
ok, well I would go with box B, I have seen boxes with much more port turns and produced very good results.
BeAlLsTaR13
Yes IIRC box B would be the same as box A (that is if specs are exactly the same) just having the port walls in different locations, say instead of the wall being say 30" you have 2 front to back walls that are 15", just make sure port width remains the same through each port chamber Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------
