SnowDrifter Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 Set gain with dd-1 or oscope, preferably. If not that, set it with a dmm - not perfect, but it should get you in the ballpark of where it should be Set your subsonic just beloe box tuning. I set mine by playing a 50-10hz sweep and adjust my subsonic until the subs will move as much as they can without mechanical damage Set your lpf to between 60 and 80hz. I like mine set closer to 60 or maybe 50, but that is all personal preference Bass boost all the way down If you don't even have access to a dmm, you could do it by ear. You just need to know what you are listening for. Play a 40 or 50hz tone and turn the gain knob up until a slight harshness in the signal is heard, then turn it down until that goes away. If you know what to listen for, you can get it pretty close to what it needs to be ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Noel989 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 If you do it by ear disconnect the sub and the amp will start making a faint buzzing sound when your clipping just turn back down a bit. I have a dd-1 and on every ampive done it ice noticed that. Where are you fromdid you check the tools map that strangeduck posted?? Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
jarrius Posted November 18, 2012 Author Report Posted November 18, 2012 Yea i have looked at it i will just have to hit them up there not to far away. 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole
SnowDrifter Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 Only some amps will make that noise. Only 2 amps I've ever done, and none of the ones I've owned have made a buzzing noise when they clip ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
