glockman513 Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 I have to keep the car functional as the family car so major modifications are out. Need some trunk space for groceries and crap I carry for work. Also money is somewhat limited, but not non-existent. What I have so far polk 6.5's for the doors 60w rms (installed 1 today before it got too dark, doing other door tomorrow after work) polk 6x9's dxi690 for the rear deck 125w rms (going to install tomorrow or the next day) amp integration kit from subthump http://subthump.com/...on-Harness.html factory fit amp mount from subthump which gives me a 7.75 x 10.5 mounting option that is completely concealed in the trunk behind some molding so using this will help me save space if I can. http://subthump.com/...-Amp-Mount.html rear firing sealed box from subthump 1.1 cu.ft with 8.75 mounting depth http://subthump.com/...ller-clone.html I also have two power acoustik cpt2-600 amps I pulled from the boat when I winterized it. I'm not married to these amps, but they're available for me to use right now, but they're a half inch too big for the amp mount. Haven't tried yet to see if the half inch is a deal breaker though. If some of you recommend not to use the cpt2-600's that won't hurt my feelings, but if I can use them for the deck or doors I'd like to. I still need subs - I was thinking Sundown sa 12's, from what I can tell, they would match up with the box I have pretty well. I don't have many options on the box, because hardly anything would fit in the camaro. I have a crap ton of best buy reward points around $225, and I've almost clicked the buy button on a cpt1-4000d or a bamf 4000/1 several times but wanted to get you'alls thoughts first. What say you on the amps? If you're feeling DOWN & OUT, it's time to get UP & IN
Watch the bass Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 If you need very small amps go with the RF PBR line, or the small Sounddigitals. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=&Brand=Rockford%2520Fosgate&_osacat=18795&_dmpt=Car_Amplifiers&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=PBR&_sacat=18795&_from=R40 http://www.soundigital.com.br/site/produtos/ "in the abundance of water, the fool is thirsty" Bob Marley
Chris Hammer Posted November 29, 2012 Report Posted November 29, 2012 If you are going with a new amp...don't buy a power acoustic...overrated by a ton,,,waste of space and probably too big for you install. I agree with watch the bass. You can get super small amps from rockfords PBR line and Soundigital....problem is I don't think your gonna have enough power for 2 sa12's. Maybe do two e12's on somethingaround 800wrms-1000wrms. Im looking for amps in that power range that will fit your budget. glockman513 Posted November 29, 2012 Author Report Posted November 29, 2012 There's plenty of real estate on the back of my enclosure to put any size amp I want for the sa-12's . . .so for my sub amp, size is not a big issue. If you're feeling DOWN & OUT, it's time to get UP & IN
severancej Posted November 30, 2012 Report Posted November 30, 2012 Massive audio nano amplifiers are small and powerful, the all in one package. Hmm..best buy you say? Maybe look at a rockford fosgate prime series amplifier, or an alpine...I'm not sure of the line but I know there is an affordable 1000~rms mono amp available from them. 98' dodge ram 140A alt Big 3 XS D2700 JVC kd-r310 Rockford T500-1BDCP 2 Sundown E12 Ported 4cubes 35hz Rockford P400-4 2 Infinity reference 3way 6x9 2 Polk DB 5 1/4 2x layer dynamat all doors
